Chatham Village combines the charm of an English country village with the convenience of modern urban living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Built in 1932, Chatham Village was designated a National Historic Landmark by the United States Secretary of the Interior in 2005. This quiet retreat from the bustle of city life boasts nearly 26 acres of natural woodland.
The Chatham Village Club had its Annual Meeting on June 14, 2017 to present to the Members an update on Club Activities, Financial Status, along with the Renovations and Remodeling that have taken place at the Clubhouse, and proposed remodeling ideas on a story board prepared by Michelle King who is offering her interior design expertise pro bono. A few Members have made contributions through the Charitable Trust on items such as the entryway wall covering, the mirror in the entryway, the wallpaper removal and painting of the vestibule between the dining room and the kitchen, and the new blinds over the windows between the dining room and kitchen. There are now framed prints from the CVH archives hanging on the walls. If you have not been to Chatham Hall recently, try to stop by the next time the Club has an activity there. If you would like to donate to the remodeling you may do so to the CVH Charitable Trust, designating that those funds be directed for the remodeling and receive a tax deduction.  The Club Board thanks all those who have made contributions of their time, their professional help, and the new additions to enhance Chatham Hall.

While the attendance at the meeting was low, there was discussion regarding the communication of the scheduled activities, with the Board agreeing to be more proactive about getting the word out about future activities, timing, and any cancelations. Board President, Tracy Bohovich, emphasized that when activities are planned and RSVP’s are requested it is very important that Members provide those RSVPs to commit to attending an activity such as the Baseball Game and the 4th of July event. This is so the Board can know financially what they will be spending and how many will be attending so that preparations and costs can be controlled. Tracy emphasized to those in attendance that there is not any funding of Club activities that comes from the Monthly Carrying Fee, and activities such as Happy Hours appreciate those donations to help offset expenses as the wine and beer provided is costly. The other events that the Club pays for are the Luminaria and the Holiday Party. This year the Club purchased the new rug for the Ballroom. The fundraising activities are rentals, the 4th of July, the Tag Sale, and The House Tour, which help to offset the other expenses the Club has such as utilities, cleaning, Comcast and supplies. The Club Board is very grateful to all those who volunteer their help at all the events as they would not be so successful without all of you lending a hand.

After the meeting the Club Board convened and elected the Officers who are: Tracy Bohovich, President,
Dan Prevade, Vice President, Linda Christ, Treasurer, Boyd Ernzer, Secretary, and Sharon Ernzer, Assistant Secretary/Treasurer.
